Only one matchday has been completed in the Italian Serie A and things are already on fire in Lombardy. The 1-2 home defeat in the opening game against newly promoted Cremonese should be considered as true failure. Lecce barely avoided relegation last season, finishing 17th in the final table, but unlike AC Milan they picked up their first point under coach Eusebio Di Francesco in a 0-0 draw at Genoa. Last season Lecce scored just 13 goals in 19 Serie A at home, but they occasionally managed to muster enough to turn this extremely meager haul into something tangible. There have been a total of 20 meetings between the two teams and Lecce has only beaten AC Milan once. Most recently, the Rossoneri remained unbeaten in 14 consecutive matches against Lecce and just recently secured a full six points in the league last season against this opponent. |
